Initially we didn’t think we could afford Harwood Homes. In our short time of being in New Zealand we had heard of their excellent reputation and high standards. But to our delight and absolute amazement Harwood Homes worked really hard to meet our needs within the given budget.
Our main expectation was for Harwood Homes to be as good as their word. Everything they said they would do, was done … and more besides. The whole team worked efficiently, professionally and communicated well within their team and with us as clients. Dave Harwood came to meet with us personally on several occasions. We really appreciated that. |

What really stood out for us was when we had a problem with our floor – too much moisture in the concrete to lay the vinyl planking (long spell of yucky weather not helping). At this point Harwood Homes and Gerrand Flooring could have demanded more money from us to solve the issue. Instead we had a phone call to say Gerrand Flooring and Harwood Homes would be covering the extra cost. Legends! We certainly weren’t expecting that.
I would not hesitate to use Harwood again. We felt valued even though we didn’t have the mega budget. It’s not the problem that’s the issue – it’s how it’s solved. Harwood Homes get a huge tick in the box here. My husband who has been in the building trade for 30 years+, worked alongside Harwood’s tradesman and was very impressed with their standard of work and ability to communicate with the customer.
The journey was a pleasure. I can’t see us moving out of our lovely new home anytime soon, but if we did, we would use Harwood Homes again. We have a gorgeous home built to a high standard in a lovely neighbourhood. When our home was valued by the Council recently, I heard one valuer say to the other, “It’s a Harwood Home, Dave’s a good builder with high standards.” Needless to say we were pleased with our valuation.
