CUSTOMER STORIES
Dear Dave & Team,
Today is the one year celebration of living in our lovely Harwood Home. Where did our journey with Harwood begin, most certainly not one year ago! While spending time recovering from cancer, and doing weekly visits to Tauranga Oncology, I started dreaming of our future home, and if I were lucky enough to survive the ordeal, what I would most like our home to look like. Studying the Realty magazines and newspapers I soon identified a trend where real estate agents mentioned another Harwood Home was sold in a very short time. |
I started doing research and visiting showhomes, taking special note of houses with the Harwood tag. During this time of recovery, part of my daily exercise regime were walking the streets of Papamoa to rebuild my strength, and one morning I stumbled onto my dream section in Saratoga Court, and claimed this section in Heaven as my future domicile.
Within a week of being declared in remission, I visited Dave and asked if he would be prepared to sell me the section at a special price, also if he would be prepared to put our name on it to prevent someone else from buying it under our noses. Gentleman Dave agreed, first obstacle overcome, now to find permanent employment so that we will be able to make our dreams come true. All kinds of plans were drafted and various scenarios’ discussed so that when we eventually visited Dave to sign a contract, we had our dream home designed and planned in the finest detail. Bathroom fittings, built in cupboards and space, yes even the bright red coloured walls were in the initial plans.
On 13 September 2010 on our seventh wedding anniversary, 6 Saratoga Court became our section, and the planning started in all earnest to get the building plans approved and through council. Less than a month later, on 12 October 2010 our plans were approved, and earth works started on 14 October. Our dream was becoming a reality at last. Then all the excitement started with daily site visits after work to monitor the progress, and within six months, and as promised, our high quality Harwood Home was completed and handed over on 12 April 2011.
Why a Harwood Home you would ask? Easy to answer, the most professional home building company operating in the Bay of Plenty, with highly skilled artisans working on every aspect of the build, from planning stage with Dave and office team, through guidance and counseling by Gael Garrett Interior Design and onto Trevor Mackenzie as extremely capable Project Manager who professionally managed the entire build and ensured that every aspect of the total build were done as per the requirements and plans and delivered on time.
Harwood Homes has over the years accumulated the best professional and highly skilled team, these include Gary Booker our builder, Joel Jacobson our electrician, Dave the tiler and Sam the painter, each and every one the best in their environment. All the professional companies that were involved with the interior finishing also need to be applauded, Jess and team at Mastercraft, Vicky at Mico Bathrooms, Karen at Bay Tiles, Tony at Gerrand Flooring, Garry at Epic Doors and Windows for exterior doors and Jason at Tasman doors for interior doors, Mitch at Bell Plumbing who made our master bath and gooseneck tap a reality, Steve at Glass Artwork for our lovely lead glass front door panels, and all the other friendly people who were a part of the build, we salute you.
Building a house through Harwood Homes makes it so easy because you have a extremely trustworthy professional team that specialises in their customers needs, requirements and whims, and delivers the most beautiful house of your dreams in time, every time. The assurance of an excellent on sell price is also a known fact with a Harwood Home and the only reason that we would ever consider selling, would be when we build another Harwood Home.
