When planning our beach house, we approached a number of housing companies. Our first consultation was with Harwood Homes at their Lakes Showhome. Meeting Robyn Ford and Dave Harwood left us feeling positive about Harwood Homes and their ability to meet our brief and budget. This proved to be the exact outcome we wanted whereas the other competitors were far from convincing. Dave Harwood was willing to "back" himself and demonstrate value and competitiveness through the pricing process.
Harwood's reputation in the Bay of Plenty also influenced our decision as we were not from from the area and not familiar with building companies in the region. We appreciated the ability to deal with the owner of the company and his fantastic team (Trish, Robyn and Trevor) and we knew exactly what we were getting meaning no surprises. |

Harwood Homes also managed the design process utilising Will Tatton Architects skills providing a stunning design with amazing street appeal. Dave Harwood's experience in the building sector ensured that the design was efficient and cost effective whilst remaining a standout home. This also led to the use of building materials that were tried and true for a coastal environment.
We have built a number of houses before and we appreciated the unique opportunity to meet and discuss the design and materials with every sub-trade specialists. The fact that everyone knew what was going on with the build provided piece of mind at the start of the project and a seamless service.
Harwood Homes promised us a stress free build which was one of the attributes we were after because this was our holiday home and were unable to be on-site. This resulted in the project manager (Trevor) providing weekly photos and a report of progress. Trevor's communication was excellent and matters arising were dealt with quickly and efficiently.
The quality of finish showed through in the final product and this was as a result of Trevor's management skills and eye for detail. Harwood's team of loyal and quality suppliers/subtrades ensured a great finish.
Overall we enjoyed the building process and are thrilled with the outcome. We have even thought that if we were ever to build a house in Hamilton again, Harwood Homes would be our preferred choice.
